The Royal Wedding

May 16, 2011

Today is a big day.  Prince William will wed Princess Catherine.  Moms told me that they call Princess Catherine “Waity Katey” because she has waited so long to marry Prince William. Well, I have been waiting so long to see them get married.

It’s 5:30 am and I am sitting with Moms on the bed in front of the big, flat screen TV in the Marriott Residence Inn we’re staying at.  We get a telephone call unexpectedly.  Guess who!  It’s Grandmoms.  Moms is not happy about getting this call so early in the morning.

“yes.. Mommy…”  Moms says tiredly and slowly.

“Sweetie, I know it’s early. But, I just had to call you to tell you that the wedding starts at 6 am and not 6:30 am like I told you last night. So, I don’t want you to miss anything,” Grandmoms says excitedly not noticing that her daughter is not happy about the early call.

“Okay…  I’ll make sure I’m up,” and Moms hangs up the phone.

“Moms! Get up! Let’s get ready to watch to wedding,” I meow.  I hunker down in my spot as Moms turns on the TV.

“What is wrong, King Alfred? Why are you so excited?!  Are you really planning on watching the entire wedding?”

“You know that’s right!” I meow.  And I sit fixedly in front of the TV from 5:45 am until 10 am when Prince William gives Princess Catherine, now a new Dutchess his second public kiss.
